Before setting off from Darjeeling I had the hotel booked in Guwahati searching on the internet. I always opt for luxurious star hotels when I travel with my family. Hotel Dynasty Guwahati is one of the finest hotels in Guwahati and is a four-star hotel. As we reached the railway station, there was the cab from the hotel to take us. The hotel is quite near the railway station and it did not take much time to reach the place. It looked large and impressive and as we entered, we were given a warm welcome at the entrance and were taken to our room.
I had booked Majestic Suite for our stay and it was a very spacious and neat room, well-furnished and tastefully decorated. The kids were attracted by the cookies and the fruit basket and were busy devouring them. There was Wi-Fi connection in the room and also a large LCD TV with cable connection, besides a mini bar and tea/coffee maker. The bathroom looked clean and had toiletries, towels and geyser.
We were given a welcome drink at the room and some snacks. We got refreshed and had rest for a while. Later on, I saw that the hotel had 4 floors and about 76 rooms. Other than the rooms there were also five spacious banquet halls capable of accommodating 50 to 250 people at a time. They were very well equipped with all modern amenities.
The well-equipped gym was another attraction where the guests are allowed to have sauna and steam bath. The restaurants in the hotel included Tandoor, which is an Indian restaurant serving authentic Indian dishes, accompanied by Ghazals in the evening. The Family Lounge had a bar that serves best wines, cocktails and champagne. It is a perfect place to sit and relax with family, enjoying soft music. Here you get Chinese dishes and snacks. There is also a rooftop restaurant where meals are prepared by experienced chefs. It offers you a panoramic view of the city.
We stayed at Hotel Dynasty Guwahati for four days and really enjoyed it. The staff was very helpful and polite and the service offered was excellent. On the fifth day we checked out and the cab from the hotel took us to the railway station.
