This day after a sumptuous breakfast, I and my family proceeded to the place destined for sightseeing for the day. The Bharat Bhavan Bhopal is indeed a treat to the eyes. With a structure that does justice to the various art forms that are encouraged and fostered here, the establishment leaves no stone unturned for the propagation of all related sciences. Music, dance, art and all other forms of human expression fuels humanity here and create surroundings that are not only pleasing to the eyes but equally soulful to listen and absorb.
Among the various wings of the place, each has a reason for its existence which it powerfully justifies. There is the Roopankar, the Museum of Fine Arts which holds exhibitions from eminent artists from time to time. While the Rangmandal is a repertory, the Vagarth boasts to be the focal point of Indian Poetry. For the people and artists for whom music is their life and soul, there is Anhad, the center of Classical and Folk Music and Chavvi stands for classical cinema which is a part of the Indian heritage. Such a kaleidoscope of activities had been made open for public ever since it was inaugurated in the year 1982. Thus, blending in the trio- the verbal, performing and visual arts, the premise is an artist’s delight and also for those who keep keen interests in such pursuits.
The Bharat Bhavan Bhopal is like none other. I may have been to several cultural hotspots but none has enthralled the way this centre did. Although, the kids were too young to understand the significance of the place that they were visiting yet, some of the finer points of the premise rubbed on them as well. Few hours had passed as if they were mere minutes and we did not even realize that it was time to move on to the next sightseeing for the day. It had been more than what I had expected from the place and it indeed was a revelation the amount of talent that the country possesses. I may have spent some more time but I guess that would have been trying the kids more than what they could take.
