The Recreational Sport Which Is Exhilarating Too: Paragliding In Manali!

Hi, I am Vanshika Dutta a full time lawyer and I love my hometown Darjeeling. I am a devoted wife and mom to two lovely kids. The trips I take when I am free are something I look forward to. Of late I am getting very interested in adventure and sports, but with a difference, that of paragliding.

Talk of paragliding and I cannot help admiring this recreational activity that has flying of para-gliders with lightweight, free-flying, foot-launched glider aircraft that has no basic structure. For taking part for Paragliding in Manali they provide a harness that is suspended below a fabric wing made of lot of interconnected baffled cells.

For Paragliding in Manali Take Accessories Which Are Important

I always feel that taking precautions and taking a few accessories along is very necessary for paragliding. Variometre is one instrument which gives an idea about the altitude, speed of winds, direction and so on. Hook knife is another important thing that has to be carried for cutting off tangled lines in trees or elsewhere.

As I searched more on the safety of paragliding and requirements of accessories which one needs for this sport, I thought before I learn paragliding in Manali I need to check vendors, who provide these accessories and found that, “fly it your way”, had very useful accessories. There are spare parts for the glider, like QPS carry, rucksack, acro brake handle, protect bag. For the harness are the speed bag, g-force brake parachute and drinking system. Parachutes require accessory spare parts like rubber bands, deployment bag.

I found out that there is this paragliding at Solang valley where the cost was just Rs.600 for short fly and Rs.1500 to 3000 for long fly which I felt was decent enough for starters. The Indian Parachuting Federation or the Aero club of India have all the registered schools of paragliding, that offer this sport. In future when I really take the plunge I will definitely be going on this website for the best paragliding schools.

The Shalimar Bagh – one of the most beautiful gardens in India

The Shalimar Bagh is one of the most beautiful gardens in India. The duo of the Nishat Bagh and the Shalimar Bagh located on the banks of the iconic Dal Lake has been the identity of the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, Srinagar. Srinagar is also the largest city in the valley region and also one of the most tourist friendly cities in the country. The Shalimar Bagh is built in a characteristic Persian Style with a lot of Islamic Architecture influence. The region was dominated by this culture for many centuries and hence this influence is quite on the expected tracks.

The classic architectural layout of the garden is adapted from the famous Persian gardens. The characteristic four radiating arms of the garden are built on a flat land. The water is drawn from a central location at the intersection of these arms. In order to fit the hilly terrain around the Dal Lake certain innovations in design of the channels were necessary. These innovations have today become the signature of the Shalimar Bagh.

A central channel runs axially through the gardens supplying water to all other branches. The channel had to start at a greater elevation to create a steady stream of water. This central channel was later named the, Shah Nahar. Today, all the three top terraces get water from the Shah Nahar.  Another peculiar characteristic of the Shalimar Bagh which is quite often neglected by the average tourist is the fact that it is rectangular instead of being a square which is such an unmistakable characteristic of any Islamic style garden in India.

This mega structure is spread over a total area of more than of 12.4 hectares and the length of the central Shah Nahar is around 600 meters. A natural landform connects the Shalimar Bagh to the Dal Lake. The lush green paths on this natural form are marked by lines of Chinar Trees which are one of the most common genus of trees in Srinagar. These trees and the continuous flow of water create a cool environment in the gardens even on the hottest of the summer noon.

Hotel KC Residency Jammu : I visited Jammu as a part of my vacation with my family and chose the Hotel Kc Residency, Jammu after I read excellent reviews about the place online. I loved the fact that it was close to the Dogra art museum and also the Mandi Palace. Apart from this, the hotel also offered exquisite views of the beautiful Jammu from the room balconies.

A Trip to Nishat Bagh – Exploring the Delights of Srinagar

The Mughals appreciated art and beauty immensely and this love for art led them to invest not only a lot of time and capital into the beautification of cities but also made them the biggest conservers and patrons of artists and art enthusiasts in the country.

During the great and later Mughals Akbar and Jahangir artistic freedom in India was at its peak. When it comes to artistic beauty nothing can beat the immense beauty of nature. The impeccable canvas and colours of the Almighty are no way comparable to the meagre creations of mere mortals. Mughals believed in this and developed hundreds of natural gardens and parks around the country for people to enjoy the beauty of nature.

Nishat Bagh

Nishat Bagh is a very popular garden in Srinagar located along the coast line of the Dal Lake. It is in fact the second largest in the state following the Shalimar Bagh which is also located nearby.  It is also one among the many places of tourist attractions close to Dal Lake built by the Mughals in the Kashmir Valley. Both the Nishat Bagh and the Shalimar Bagh were built during the 17th century. These gardens are also one of the largest and the most beautiful terrace garden not only in India but in the world. The beautiful Mughal Architecture is prominently visible in these gardens.

The Nishat Bagh is easily accessible from various parts of Srinagar being just 11 kilometres away from the city centre by road. The Shikara or the water Taxi of Srinagar can also be hired at the Dal Lake to travel to the Nishat Bagh which is also called the garden of joy and delight. When you enter the garden you will realise why it is called so.

The Nishat Bagh is a mega structure by all means and includes 12 different floors being a terrace garden. The second floor and the third floor are particularly popular amongst all the twelve because of the unique display of fountains. The delightful Persian lilacs are also a centre of attraction given their rarity in India. The Grand and combination five tall fountains welcome you to the garden joy and spending a warm afternoon at the Nishat Bagh was a truly satisfying experience for me and my family.

Guru Nanak the leader of the Sikhs has always been on top of my mind for his motivating quotes and sermons. If one does not develop his intellectual capacities it is but obvious that the shallow way of thinking will make one fall to a low level with low intelligence. I try to follow this in my profession too.
